SOZO History

In the USA the Bethel SOZO ministry of Bethel Church in Redding, California is led by Dawna DeSilva and Teresa Liebscher.

Dawna DeSilva is the Founder and Co-Leader of the International Healing and Deliverance SOZO Ministry birthed at Bethel Church. Dawna is also a leader of the Transformation Center at Bethel. Whether training pastors and leaders in SOZO, teaching on destiny, or ministering prophetically, she releases people, churches and cities into new vision and freedom. No matter how traumatic the woundings, Dawna ministers with authority and gentleness, imparting hope and healing.

Teresa Liebscher is the Co-Leader of the SOZO Ministry and the Founder/Leader of the Shabar Ministry of Bethel Church since 2002. She has developed and is now offering training for the Shabar ministry. She is one of the teachers of the SOZO Ministry and has been involved in SOZO since 1997. Teresa has been traveling and teaching SOZO seminars since 1998. Teresa is also a leader of the Transformation Center at Bethel. Her passion for connecting the body of Christ to Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit is an ever increasing love of her life.

In 1997 Randy Clark, a healing evangelist, held meetings at Bethel Church. Pastor Clark sent training to Bethel in advance to teach the congregation how to be prayer servants. A small portion of that training was a model of “deliverance” from Argentina. Our first tool “The Four Doors” was introduced to us during that training.

Dawna DeSilva, the leader and founder of the Sozo Ministry, attended this training at Bethel. Afterward, Dawna began to use the concept of “The Four Doors” when they prayed for people. Seeing a miraculous difference in people’s level of freedom, the “Sozo Ministry” was birthed. As the Sozo Ministry developed, the Lord introduced other tools that have aided in people being healed and released from the wounds and lies the enemy used in their past.

In 1998 other churches and organizations requested the Sozo Ministry to share what God had started. Thus, the Sozo Ministry started traveling to train and equip other churches and organizations to start their own Sozo Ministry. We have traveled international and to numerous states for this training and equipping.

Bethel’s sozo team ministers to an average of 12 individuals per week. This includes those who attend Bethel as well as those who attend other churches in the area. Individuals have been coming from other locations in California as well as other states and foreign countries to attain the ministry at Bethel.
